Dokki connects to outside AI tools over MCP — the open standard those tools use to reach external data and tools. Connect a client like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Codex to a workspace, and it can read and work with your documents, tables, and search, using the access you grant it.
You don't need to understand the protocol — just follow the steps for your client.
Two ways to connect
Connect external clients — the quick path for your own tools. Generate a key and paste a command or URL into the client.
Connectors — named, workspace-scoped credentials you can manage and revoke, built for teams and external agents.
What a connection can reach
A connection works within a single workspace — it can read and edit what's in that workspace and nothing outside it. Revoke the key or connector to cut access immediately.
In this section
Connect external clients — set up Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Cursor.
Connectors — create and manage workspace credentials for MCP clients and agents.
MCP also runs the other way
Everything here is about outside tools reaching into Dokki. Agents use the same standard in the opposite direction — to reach out to other tools and data sources. See Memory, Skills & Connections.
