Models & Pricing

Dokki Copilot supports several AI models. You can pick the one that fits the job.

Available models

Copilot offers a curated set of frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and others. The exact list (and the default) evolves as models improve — check the model picker at the top of the Copilot panel for what's available right now.

At a high level, the choices fall into three buckets:

  • Best for long, careful writing — flagship models from Anthropic and OpenAI. Slower, more expensive, but stronger reasoning across long documents.

  • Best for images and visuals — Google's models, which power image understanding and image generation.

  • Fast everyday default — a lighter model that handles quick rewrites, summaries, and short edits in seconds.

Switch models from the picker at the top of the Copilot panel. Your choice is remembered per workspace.

How usage is metered

Copilot usage counts against your AI Copilot messages quota:

  • Free — 5 messages per day across all models. Top up with credits anytime.

  • Pro / Max — daily limits removed; usage governed by your plan and credits.

A "message" is one user turn — your prompt plus whatever follow-up actions Copilot takes to answer it. Long agentic chains still count as one message.

Going over your daily limit

Used up your 5 free messages for the day? You don't have to wait it out. Switch on Extra Usage in billing and Copilot keeps working — it draws from credits against a monthly cap you set yourself, so there are no surprises. Paid plans use the same safety valve when a busy day runs past your normal allowance.

What happens when you send a message

  1. Your message and the active document are sent to the chosen model.

  2. The model decides whether to answer directly, take an action (edit your doc, search your workspace, generate an image, fetch a web page), or both.

  3. Action results are fed back; the loop repeats until the model is done.

  4. The final response streams into chat, with edits landing directly in your document or table.

You can see every action and intermediate step in the chat — nothing is hidden.
